- It may be the modem(s) at the other end limiting you. I've tried four
- brand new V.34 modems -- USR Sportster with latest V.34+ ROM, Teleport
- Platinum, PPI Mc288MT-II, and Motorola LifeStyle (and a friend has tried a
- fifth, a Supra) -- to get into my ISP at 28.8k but is has never been
- (workably) achievable. 26.4k is the usual connection, sometimes lower.
- I'm not sure which brand my ISP uses, unfortunately.
